Situated along Kauai’s south shore, Poipu Bay Golf Course is the former home to the PGA Grand Slam of Golf and still boasts breathtaking views to complement the challenging layout.
At 501 yards, the signature No. 16 is the longest par 4 on the course. Golfers head downhill from an elevated tee and are met with a variety of challenges including a small lake followed by a dogleg left created by an ancient rock wall and heiau (temple or sacred site) and a multiple-story drop in elevation on the left bordered by sheer cliffs and the largest water hazard in the world—the churning Pacific Ocean. The 16th green is Poipu Bay’s largest and most contoured and is guarded by three bunkers stretching from the right to the back of the green.
