Makai Sushi is a small sushi bar tucked inside Kukuiula Store.
Matt Oliver, owner and certified sushi chef, serves plenty of aloha with his super-fresh rolls and bowls.
The Gorilla Bowl includes glistening cubes of fresh caught ahi and ono, as well as organic King salmon, mixed with cucumber, sweet onion and avocado.
The poke mixture is served on a bed of sushi rice, shaved daikon and a vibrant green seaweed salad.
Ingredients are free of preservatives, MSG, and artificial colors.
All dishes are made-to-order, enabling them to cater to customer’s preferences and needs, such as vegan and gluten-free sushi.
