Named “America’s Best Beach” in 2006, D.T. Fleming Beach Park is one of Maui’s highly acclaimed beaches. The destination features a mile-long, crescent-shaped white-sand beach flanked by shade-giving trees and restroom and picnic facilities.
The beach is a favorite for sunbathers, swimmers and surfers as ideal weather can be found year-round along with picturesque views of the neighboring island of Molokai.
Upon entering the water, though, one should check with lifeguards on duty and heed warnings on posted signs as strong currents and potentially dangerous shore-breaking waves are constantly churning. When venturing into the ocean, the age-old motto “if in doubt, don’t go out” definitely applies.
