The jewel of Kaanapali, a 1,200-acre resort community in West Maui, is its beach. This sparkling white sand beach stretches for three miles, with easy access from all the oceanfront hotels and resorts in this area. There are kiosks along the beach that rent out surfboards and other ocean gear and open-air restaurants where you can enjoy the view with a cocktail. Puu Kekaa, or Black Rock, in front of the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa at the northernmost section of the beach is great for snorkeling. It’s easy to see why this stunning beach was once a popular escape for Maui’s alii (royalty).
