Onions have long been synonymous with Maui.
But thanks to Kula Country Farms, strawberries are an up-and-coming crop, grown year-round on this 55-acre farm in Upcountry Maui.
Chauncy and Teena Monden took over the family farm in 1998 with the goal of growing local strawberries, onions, green beans and broccoli.
During certain times of the year, you can even pick your own strawberries from the patches just outside the farm’s produce stand.
