It’s called the Honolulu Festival, but the theme of “Pacific Harmony” is all about reaching beyond Hawaii.
Every March, performers and participants come from across Asia and the Pacific Rim to share their traditions and learn from others’. It’s three days of colorful cultural exchange.
There are food booths, souvenir vendors, and live dance and music at various venues around town. Craft demonstrations let festival-goers try everything from hula to calligraphy to ikebana.
Things kick off with a Friendship Gala at the Hawaii Convention Center and end on Waikiki Beach with a parade and a fireworks spectacular.
