This fairly new neighborhood bar — has already lured a loyal following who love the mix of modern and traditional techniques in crafting cocktails. A good portion of its menu is made in-house with local ingredients, too, making this a staple on anyone’s happy hour list.
While cocktails are king here — the Kakaako bar is co-owned by local mixologist Christian Self, after all — the food menu features a slew of inventive dishes including a potato-and-onion cake with housemade gravlax and a mustard dill sauce, beer-battered fried cauliflowers, and eggplants cooked with a sake and miso glaze.
ORDER THIS: Throw back a Moscow Mule with Bevy’s $1 oysters paired with a papaya and dragon fruit mignonette.
