Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be underwater, inches away from a dozen sharks? Shark Trek immerses you in a 300,000-gallon tank with only a wire mesh separating you from four different species of native Hawaiian sharks!
You can also enjoy encounters with sea lions, Hawaiian rays and dolphins (during the Dolphin Royal Swim, you’ll befriend two dolphins that will give you a handshake and a kiss on the cheek and take you on exhilarating rides across the pool). Shows spotlighting dolphins, penguins and sea lions are designed to entertain and educate.
Don’t miss the open-air aviary, where cockatiels and lovebirds reside; the pool where you can gently touch starfish, urchins, a baby sea turtle and other creatures; and the seabird sanctuary, where sick and injured birds are nursed back to health to become permanent residents of the park.
If time permits, wrap up your visit at the Chief’s Luau, complete with a Polynesian show and a buffet of ono (delicious) local dishes such as poi, kalua pork and lomilomi salmon.
Open 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily
