Yes, coffee is usually associated with the morning, but Kona night owls know this spot, with its second-floor deck high above the ocean and plenty of hardwood dance floor space around the upstairs bar, as the place to go for massively popular DJ nights like “Deep House,” put on by Off the Grid Productions, which showcases electronic artists from around the islands.
There’s also live music Friday through Sunday from 5:30 p.m. on, plus Zouk and salsa dancing on Tuesdays starting at 7 p.m.
Daylight Mind is always hosting events and dance classes, so it’s worth keeping an eye on their monthly schedule for fun events like “Paint and Sip.” Concerts come through here, too, with Leche del Tigre a semi-regular affair.
There’s a full bar upstairs and food service until 9 p.m. Daylight Mind is also a full-service restaurant on the ground floor with a spectacular ocean view right off the railing.
The menu is based around locally sourced ingredients, and a popular pupu item is indulgent avocado fries.
There are fresh, large salads and epic, lean burgers as well.
