There’s a huge outdoor lanai that seats 175, but also a bustling U-shaped koa bar inside by the pizza ovens (this is one place in Kona where the pizza menu is truly creative), usually humming with beer fans.
The beer taps are ready when you are, so choose from a list that changes up a bit but always includes the Black Sand Porter, Castaway IPA, Hanalei Island Style IPA, Hula Hefeweizen and Big Wave Golden Ale.
Enjoy live music every Sunday from 5-8 p.m., with a whole range of styles running from reggae to rock.
The menu offers beer pairings, and is as huge as the lanai. The flavors tend toward Island/Tropical, with lots of fresh fish, Asian and Hawaiian-style dishes, and a whole page of those afore-mentioned pizzas.
Try the Pele’s Own, with smoked mozzarella and house-made Cajun tomato sauce. Or the Puna Pie, with Gorgonzola, chevre, and roasted garlic cloves.
