Extra Comfort is a section of seats on our Airbus A330 aircraft that offers extra legroom (five or more inches), priority services and additional amenities to make your travel experience more comfortable. Extra Comfort seats are available across all our Airbus 330 aircraft. You can enjoy similar extra legroom with Preferred Seats, available on our Boeing 767 and 717 aircraft.

Travel to/from Hawaii and North America/International Destination

Pualani Platinum and Gold members can now enjoy complimentary upgrades to Extra Comfort / Preferred Seats on all Hawaiian Airlines-operated flights to/from North America and International destinations, subject to seat availability. This benefit is applicable to the Elite member only. Be sure your HawaiianMiles number is present in your reservations, or added prior to completing the check-in process. When checking in for your flight via web / airport kiosk / mobile (24 hours prior to departure), you can add yourself to the standby list for the seat upgrade. Seating will be assigned by priority of status (Pualani Platinum before Pualani Gold), and then on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you already have a seat assignment for your existing Main Cabin ticket, our systems will automatically assign you a seat in Extra Comfort / Preferred Seats, based on like-for-like seating, subject to seat availability. For example, if you have an existing aisle seat inthe Main Cabin , our systems will look for an aisle seat within Extra Comfort / Preferred Seats. If one is not available, the system will look for the next best available seat, which may be a window or a middle seat. Seating assignments occur at the departure gate, once the check-in window closes. You will be notified by the gate agent if your upgrade is confirmed and you will be issued a new boarding pass. At that time, your original seat assignment is released back into our systems and may be assigned to another guest.

Seating assignments are automatically handled by our systems. Due to seat availability, please be aware that your new seat assignment may be a middle seat in Extra Comfort / Preferred Seats. Once the new upgraded seat is confirmed, we are unable to cancel the request and put you back in your original Main Cabin seat. This may impact your decision to take advantage of the complimentary upgrade if you have a specific seat type preference, or if you are traveling with others in your party and want to be seated together.

Revenue tickets (all Main Cabin fare classes) and flight award tickets are eligible for the complimentary upgrade, subject to seat availability.

Travel to the Neighbor Islands within the State of Hawaii

Pualani Platinum members can enjoy complimentary upgrades to First Class or Preferred Seats on all Hawaiian Airlines-operated flights to the Neighbor Islands, subject to seat availability. This benefit is applicable to the Elite member only. Be sure your HawaiianMiles number is present in your reservations, or added prior to completing the check-in process. When checking in for your flight via web / airport kiosk / mobile (24 hours prior to departure), you can secure a First Class or Preferred Seat if it’s available.

Pualani Gold members can enjoy complimentary standby upgrades to Preferred Seats on all Hawaiian Airlines-operated flights to the Neighbor Islands, subject to seat availability at check in.
