Whether your sports gear is on the list below or not, if your equipment can fit into a container and meets all specified check-in baggage restrictions, then normal check-in luggage fees will apply.

Archery Equipment

An item of archery equipment:
  • 1 bow case containing bows
  • 1 quiver with arrows
  • Maintenance kit of sufficient strength to protect items from accidental damage

Bowling Equipment

An item of bowling equipment includes: 
  • One bowling ball
  • One bowling bag
  • One pair of bowling shoes

Fishing Equipment

An item of fishing equipment: 
  • Two rods
  • One reel
  • One landing net
  • One pair of fishing boots (all properly encased)
  • One fishing tackle box

Football Equipment

An item of football equipment: 
  • One set of headgear
  • One set of shoulder pads
  • One set of knee pads
  • One jersey
  • One pair of shoes

Golfing Equipment

An item of golfing equipment:  One golf bag containing no more than:
  • 14 golf clubs
  • 12 golf balls
  • One pair of golf shoes

Fees: Golfing equipment counts towards your baggage allowance, but if it’s in excess, each item will be subject to the excess baggage charge for a single piece, whether or not presented as a single piece.

We’ll waive oversized baggage charges for golfing equipment that exceeds 62 linear inches IF all items in the golf bag or container are in the list of golfing equipment above. If non-golf items are in the golf bag or container, then we’ll charge normal oversize fees for golfing equipment that exceeds 62 linear inches. We do not accept checked baggage items exceeding 115 linear inches.

Note: Hawaiian Airlines does not accept swing less golf clubs, either as carry-on or checked baggage.

Ski / Snowboard Equipment

An item of skiing/snowboarding equipment: 
  • One pair of skis or one snowboard
  • One pair of ski poles
  • One pair of ski or snowboard bindings
  • One pair of ski or snowboarding boots

Tennis Equipment

An item of tennis equipment: 
  • Two tennis rackets that must be contained in one tennis racket case suitable for carriage*
  • One canister of tennis balls

*Maximum of two tennis rackets per case
